Serb Launches Grounding Drone Traffic Management System (UTM) for Drone Users in Oman
28-01-2025
Serb, a leading innovator in drone management solutions, is proud to unveil its state-of-the-art Traffic Management System for drones in the Sultanate of Oman. This monumental launch marks a significant advancement in Oman’s technological landscape and promises to provide a comprehensive solution for drone enthusiasts and operators across the country. Users can now log in to the website ww.flyserb.com to know more about the service.
Serb’s Traffic Management System is poised to redefine how drones are utilized in Oman, offering a holistic platform for drone operators and enthusiasts, encompassing route planning, flight assessments, and risk evaluations before embarking on drone-based operations. With a strong emphasis on safety, regulatory compliance, and operational efficiency, this system aims to streamline and elevate the drone experience.
This innovative solution, named Serb UTM (Unmanned Traffic Management), is the first of its kind in Oman and will play a pivotal role in managing airspace for multiple beyond visual line-of-sight (BVLOS) drone operations concurrently.
According to Anwaar Al Hinai, Co-founder and CEO of SERB; “ the software is designed to assist drone operators in planning flights within Oman’s airspace. Launched in 2020, Serb, overseen by the Civil Aviation Authority, provides essential information for conducting drone missions within the country”
Serb UTM promises to offer operators a “better understanding” of where they can conduct drone flights, taking into account Oman’s Regulations, which designate red, green, and yellow zones for private entities. SERB system not only facilitates access to such information; but also supplements it with additional data.
It is essential to note that all drone flight information planned using Serb UTM will be shared with authorities before take-off. After submitting the flight plan, details including drone license number, drone operator’s contact information, flight plan specifics, purpose of flight, and flight duration and time will be shared with the Civil Aviation Authority of Oman. This proactive sharing of information allows the authority to reject a flight if any inconsistencies or potential disruptions with aircraft/helicopter operations are identified.
SERB is excited to bring this cutting-edge drone traffic management system to Oman, ushering in a new era of drone operations in the country. With a focus on safety, regulatory compliance, and technological innovation, Serb remains committed to reshaping the drone landscape in Oman and beyond.
